Environments

Test and live are separate. A test publishable key calls POST /api/v1/ask for the test environment. It does not read live sources.

Test keys and local mode are free.
Live config fetch needs BYO ($9.99) or Hosted ($19.99).
Live Hosted writes need Hosted ($19.99). That includes public URL sources and reindex.
MCP OAuth and a test secret can add a URL source only when environment is test. A live URL source needs a live secret and Hosted.

Checkout stays off until the owner creates the Stripe prices. Do not invent price ids.
