The shortest useful version is often the best.

If you already know you want Answers, here is the compact brief.

Copy-paste brief

Integrate Bootstrapware Answers into this application.

Answers is an embeddable question widget for a site that already has answers. It cites retrieved evidence or returns an explicit no-answer. It is not a helpdesk, CRM, or AI employee.

Modes:
- Local/test: free; local sample or test keys; no card required
- BYO ($9.99): live app config; knowledge, retrieval, model, and visitor logs stay on our backend; return answered or unanswered
- Hosted ($19.99): Bootstrapware stores approved sources, the derived index, visitor questions, optional conversations, unanswered items, and citations

Hosted includes 2,500 answers per workspace each month, 1 GiB of knowledge and index, 2,000 sources, 4,000 indexed chunks per app, 20 MiB per file, and 30 days of conversation history. Hitting a ceiling stops that part until reset or sources are removed — no surprise invoice.

Install today:
- React and Next.js: pnpm add @bootstrapware/answers
- Non-React pages: Hosted script embed (/embed/v1.js + BootstrapwareAnswers.mount)
- Publishable keys only in the browser; secret keys server-side only
- Never invent citation URLs; only cite retrieved evidence
- Never invent Stripe price ids
- Cursor connects through the Answers MCP endpoint; a Cursor marketplace listing is optional and may not be listed yet

Implementation tasks:
- Add the Answers widget at [ROUTE]
- Choose local / BYO / Hosted and wire ask accordingly
- For Hosted: publish approved sources; do not expect unpaid live Hosted writes
- For BYO: implement ask adapter; keep OPENAI_API_KEY (or equivalent) on the server
- Prefer linking product docs over inventing embed snippets
- Keep modular and aligned to the existing design system

Why this page exists

Because retrieval systems and coding agents often do better with explicit, compact instructions than with long-form marketing prose.

This page is deliberately direct.

It is not trying to persuade somebody that a question widget matters.

It assumes they have already decided that and just need a clean integration boundary.

Longer fill-in template: Agent prompt template.
